LONDON, March 2, 2010 – Canonical Ltd., the company behind Ubuntu, announced a program for the ISV community – including a series of webinars -- to highlight the benefits of certifying software on the the long term support version of Ubuntu 10.04.
The April release of Ubuntu 10.04 will be the third long term support release. During its March webinar series, Canonical will explain the significant progress that the previous long term release has made in the server and desktop markets, steps that have moved the operating system from the fringes to the core of computing for millions of individuals and thousands of business in every geography and market.
Canonical offers dedicated support program for Lotus Symphony, the core component of IBM Client for Smart Work on Ubuntu
IBM Lotusphere/Florida, Jan 18, 2010: Canonical today announced a dedicated support program for Lotus Symphony, the no-charge office productivity alternative which is a core component of IBM Client for Smart Work (ICSW) on Ubuntu. This support is made available to customers by Canonical through the IBM and Canonical partner network. Organisations can now switch to an alternative platform from Microsoft for their business productivity needs with full confidence that the core solution is fully supported.

Open source industry veteran Matt Asay joins Canonical as chief operating officer
LONDON, February 5, 2010 – Canonical Ltd., the commercial sponsor of Ubuntu, announced today that open source industry veteran Matt Asay has joined the company as chief operating officer (COO) -- responsible for aligning strategic goals and operational activities, the optimization of day-to-day operations, and leadership of Canonical marketing and back-office functions.
Most recently VP, Business Development for Alfresco, Asay has been involved with open source since 1998, and is one of the industry's leading open source business strategists.
